Understanding Fuel Efficiency and Emissions Metrics

Fuel Consumption

The amount of fuel used per unit of distance; most commonly, liters per 100 kilometers (L/100 km). Lower value means better fuel consumption (less fuel to travel the same distance)

Fuel Economy

The distance traveled per unit of fuel used; most commonly known as kilometers per liter (km/L). Higher value means travelling further for the same amount of fuel.

CO2 Emission

The amount of carbon dioxide produced because of the combustion process, typically measured in grams of CO2 per kilometer (CO2 g/km).
